Looking for the Lukasiks
First and foremost, this is a place for our family story. It is an ongoing research portal for piecing together our past and hopefully, an important historical work which documents a time in our past and supports us into the future.

About Us
Three (not so) little (anymore) Polish chicks would love to know more about their paternal grandfather - Krzysztof Lukasik. Krzysztof and our Babacia Lucyna Kaczynska allegedy met during the war after Lucyna's family was expelled from the eastern borderlands of Poland by the Russians in February 1940. We believe they met and married in Czok Pak camp. Our father was born in Tehran, Persia. Lucy moved from Tehran to Tengeru Africa and then to Australia in 1950. So what do we want to know? Anything about Krzysztof - our information on him is very limited. We would love to know more about Lucy and the rest of our Polish family too - her life in Poland before the war, anyone her knew her during her travels throughout Europe and arrival in Australia. But really any piece of information on anyone in our family would be valued and treasured.

Michelle
Welcome to our family history project! As the eldest of Vodek's three daughters and the lead researcher, my journey began over a decade ago after being inspired by Sophia Turkowitz's documentary, "Once My Mother." Since then, I've traveled to Poland three times, exploring various towns and cities, and I've fallen deeply in love with the country. I am committed to piecing together the incredible story of our Polish heritage, and I won't stop until every piece of the puzzle is complete.
Know something?
