Anyone who's done some family research knows just what a huge undertaking it is. Where do you even start? Well, here are some sites that we couldn't have done without.
And, although we are no longer on Facebook, there are tonnes of genealogy groups on there that post all their precious findings - you never know when some part of your research, fills a big gap in someone else's. Some of my biggest finds have been from people posting on Facebook.

This Virtual Museum presented by the Kresy-Siberia Foundation, started in 2001 by Stefan Wisniowski. as an internet discussion forum and continues today with over 1200 members. The website covers the forced exile of Poles from the Eastern Borderlands, known as the 'Kresy" during WW2 and provides a precious memorial to those who perished and those who survived.



Polish Origins are providers of genealogical research and tours of Poland. This website includes a useful forum where users can ask questions from volunteers and other users for their own research.

The Polish Museum and Archives in Australia was established in 1991 to collect and preserve historical materials that reflect the individual and community life of Polish immigrants living in Australia.



Ministry of Defence
The Ministry of Defence in the United Kingdom is the go to for sourcing information on members of your family who served in the Polish Air Force.

The Polish Institute & Sikorski Museum archives include valuable information about the Polish Underground Movement (1939-1945) and other information pertaining to the period of the Second World War 1939-1945 and Poland's role in it and the papers of the Polish Government in Exile, residing in London between 1945 and 1990.



The Polish Genealogical Society website is a repository of birth, marriage and death records from across Poland. These records are being continuously updated and what you didn't find last week, you may find tomorrow.
