The Gallery
Welcome to our Gallery. Here, you will find all sorts of memories - photos, videos and links, which capture our journey and tell the story of the Sybiraks, to find not only Lucyna and Krzysztof, but the Ferenc and Keller members of the family and to delight in continued familial relationships as the years go on. We hope you enjoy it!

One thing is for sure, our ancestors have done some travelling in their time. Many of these journeys occurred on ships. Read all about what these journeys would have been like here.

What little boy wouldn't love growing up in a country full of lions, snakes and monkeys? Wlodek seemed to relish his time in the family's next home, Africa. This gallery showcases the family's time spent in the Tengeru camp in Tanganyika and includes many shots of the school classes that Lucyna assisted in teaching.

Persia
It is here in Persia, that life began for Wlodek Keller. There are few photos from this time, but it was a time of long overdue safety for the family after their evacuation from the USSR. Although many perished, it was the first time many were fed, clothed and safe in a long time.

USSR
When the Ferenc's and Kaczynska's were deported from their homeland, they were sent by train to the wilds of Siberia. They survived, just...but life wasn't easy.

All the way from Africa to the sunburnt country of Australia. This is the journey that Lucyna and Wlodek made. Although they were initially put up in nissen huts, which were certainly far from the life they had known in Poland, life was now full of promise. Here are photos of their new lives in Australia.

From the heat of Africa to the mild weather of the United Kingdom. It was quite the contrasting time for Francziszka, Zofia, Ala and Bogdan in their new home. New families grew and the family even had a chance to be reunited briefly. Life carried on here.

Belgium
Ledeberg, Ghent was the new home for Krzysztof Lukasik after the turbulent times of war. He married, had another child and lived here, in the same house, on the same street, until his death in the late 70's.

Whilst none of the family returned to live in Poland, it always remained dear to their hearts. Some made brief visits home, but some were unable to. New generations have come to visit and love Poland, and have formed bonds with our beloved relatives that still remain there.
