Arriving in Africa after so long must have seemed somewhat a crazy dream to the family. This is where they spent the next five years.
After Tehran, the family's next home was the Tengeru camp in Tanganyika, Africa. It provided Wlodek with an almost idyllic home and was the longest time the family had stood still since being deported from Poland.
