Zofia Maria Kaczynska was born in Makow Mazowiecki, Poland in 1903 to Stanislaw and Franciszka Kaczynski.  She was the elder sister of Lucyna.

 

In 1923, Zofia married Ignacy Ferenc in the Krasnosiek-Sielc parish and they moved to the land that Ignacy had gained for his role in the Polish Legion, fighting the Bolsheviks in 1920.

 

Zofia and Ignacy had four children - Zbigniew (who died in infancy), Ryzsard Alijca and Bogdan. Ryzsard was arrested for stealing during their deportation and was never seen again. Zofia suffered from a bad heart.​

Along with her mother Franciszka, daughter Alicja (Ala) and son Bogdan, she came to the United Kingdom aboard the MV Dundalk Bay in September 1950, docking at Hull.​Zofia died in 1954 aged just 51, in the United Kingdom.
