Jan Bogdan Ferenc was born in Ostrow, Poland in 1936 to Ignazc Ferenc and Zofia Kaczynska.  He had two brothers - Zbigniew (who died in infancy) and Ryzsard and a sister Alicja (Ala).  Ryzsard was arrested for stealing during their deportation and was never seen again.

 

Bogdan came to the United Kingdom aboard the MV Dundalk Bay in September 1950, docking at Hull.

​He married several times and had two daughters - Olenka and Irminka - one by each marriage.  ​Bogdan died in 1999 in Coventry, United Kingdom.
