Reunion in Poland, 1969
Below are images taken from Lucyna's visit to Warsaw, her first, and last, return to the country of her birth. She was able to see her sister Anna and daughters Grazyna and Bozena again. We wonder what she thought of Warsaw during this trip? It would have been far from the Warsaw she loved, now under Communist rule.
Vodek's First Visit to Poland, 2007
Below are images taken from Vodek and Sherrill's first visit to Poland, in 2007. Vodek met his Ciocia Ana (Auntry Ana), Ana's husband Stefan and daughter Grazyna, Grazyna's daughter Dorotka, Dorotka's husband Wieslaw and daughters Paula, Zuzia and Maya, cousin Stan Ferenc and his son Waldek.
Michelle's First Visit to Poland, 2014
Below are images taken from Michelle's first visit to Poland, in 2007. After travelling Europe separately, Michelle met up with Vodek and Sherrill in Warsaw, to meet her Polish family for the first time. Given their short stay, only a brief amount of time was spent with their relatives, but a highlight was a dinner out with Stan Ferenc, his son Waldek and wife, Dorotka, Wieslaw, Paula, Zusia, Maja and Grazyna.
Michelle's 2nd visit to Poland, 2018
In 2018, Michelle returned to Poland for a five week visit. She also undertook a genealogy tour of various towns and cities, joined in Bialystok, by Ala's son Chris, his wife Sharon and daughter Katherine, to visit the location where the family was deported from, in Ostrow. Below are images taken in Warsaw, and at the summer house in Bledowo, with Dorotka and her lovely family.
White Christmas in Poland, 2019
In 2019, Vodek, Sherrill and Michelle decided to return to Poland, to experience a 'White Christmas'. They spent several weeks in Poland, spreading their time between Warsaw, Krakow and Zakopane. Christmas was spent with the family. It would be Vodek's final visit with Ala, Grazyna and cousin Stan Ferenc, as they all passed away within a year or so of this visit.
