Ana Kaczynska is still a bit of a mystery to us. We assume she was born in Makow Mazowiecki, Poland to Stanislaw and Franciszka Kaczynski.  She was the sister of Lucyna and Zofia.​  We say mystery, because her birth records have not been located to date - this could simply be that her name Ana was not her birth name.

 

Ciocia Ana was living in the Praga suburb of Warsaw when war broke out.  She tried to reach the farm to be with the rest of the family but the trains were not running to schedule and she ended up returning to Praga, where she lived out the war.​

Ana married Bolesław Cieslikowski and had two daughters, Bozena and Grazyna.  She lived to quite a ripe old age and was still living in Praga when Wlodek visited Poland for the first time in 2007.​

 

At some stage Ana made a visit to Coventry and was reunited with her mother Franciszka, sister Zofia, niece Ala and her new family.​Bozena passed at a young age in around the 1950's. Grazyna Wysocki (nee Cieslikowska) passed in November 2020.​

 

Ana's family form our Polish roots and it is wonderful that a new generation of family is keeping in contact.
